Bison II WIP

I am proceeding with my Bison II. Few more mistakes were found by my friend Viktor Ukhov, but I decided to leave the model as it is, it is not correct anyway, so why bother?

So, final image before painting.
And... colour modulation with grey colours. More progress will follow.

2nd place in DiShow 2011 according to the judges!

I am very happy to know that my Staghound was awarded 2nd place by judges in the prestigeous contest Dishow in 1/48 scale armour category!

Here is what they say:

Judge #1. This model has the most interesting paintwork in the category with a lot of streaking, chipping but these techniques were used wisely without turning a model into contrast traffic light. The weak sides of this model are - optics and vision ports, mirrors.
Judge #2. Fantastic model for 1/48 scale but if the author would have added PE clamps and other small elements it would be even better.
Judge #3. Even though it is a pure OOB model the painting and weathering look very organic. It just pleasant to look on it.

You can find images of this model by clicking on the tags or by checking "popular posts" on the right bottom of the page. And as soon as the medals arrive (gold according to visitors and silver according to judges) I will take a picture of the model with them :)

Happy modelling!

DAK vehicles on their way!

By coincidence I am working on 2 DAK vehicles now.

1st is Sd.Kfz.6 and it is undergoing painting stage now. For the imitation of worn paint I used a combination of popular hair spray method togather with Laquer Thinner Chipping. Looks nice so far :)

Another one on my bench is Bison II from Dragon which is a nice kit overall, but has several problems...
First I thought about doing it OOB, but then I couldn't resist detailing it :) So, a bit of PE and scratch and I hope to start painting it soon...

sWS mit Flak 43, Canadian War Museum, done.

Finally, I would like to share some images of my latest finished 1/35 scale model.
This sWS represents a vehicle from the Allied trophy dump that is seen in Panzerwrecks #6. I corrected several things and did the painting as close as possible to the reference (the markings are exclusive too). To increase the detail level I used shells and ammo containers, as well as infantry detail set (all from Alliance Model Works) and tools set from Verlinden.

The full feature article will appear in MMI soon Hope you like it and feel free to comment.

Another model I finished last summer. The kit is from Dragon and I did it OOB. Painted with acrylics and weathered with enamels. Mauser is from Dragon weapons kit.
